We have been making these simple Tourniquet Holders for about twenty years now, for teammates and friends. We have used them on the battlefield, and continue to use them to carry life saving gear on all adventures.

Simply put, they are the most simple and practical way to carry all common tourniquets.

Early on in the Global War on Terror, factory made tourniquets (TQs) began to be issued in mass to our troops. They were included with the Improved First Aid kit (IFAK) issued to the Army and Marine Corps as early as 2003, which were a huge improvement over previous issued kits. These IFAKs commonly contained the CAT-type tourniquets, and were packed in with the rest of the medical gear contained in the IFAK. This made it hard to get the TQ out quickly, particularly if it was to be self-applied. The added trouble was that there was only one tourniquet issued, but a human being has four limbs. The solution to this was to carry additional TQs, presenting the problem of where and how to stow them.

Servicemen and women came up with all sorts of carriage solutions such as using rubber bands, loops of bicycle tire (ranger bands), or simply stowing the TQ's in a common issued pouch, like a magazine or smoke grenade pouch. The bands would degrade in the sun and fail quickly, and placing a TQ in a pouch designed for a different piece of gear made it hard to find if someone was trying to apply buddy-aid to the wounded. That's went we started to make these simple, self explanatory holders while serving in the US Marines.

Our Tourniquet holder is simple, light and easy to use. It is made from Milspec webbing and elastic, and uses a coaster-cord lock to adjust for tension to retain the tourniquet. Simply lace the webbing portion through PALS/MOLLE webbing, and place the TQ inside the elastic shock cord, then cinch down the cord lock. The provided red nylon "Pull tab" is large enough to grab with gloved fingers, and helps distinguish the rolled up tourntique as a peice of medical gear. The tourniquet can be accessed from top or bottom, by pulling either the provided tab, or with the running tail of the cord lock. If the tab is unwanted, it can be removed by untying the cord and sliding it off, before reassembly.

Although this was designed to be attached to the webbing of military armor carriers, belts and backpacks, our Tourniquet Holder can also be used on civilian gear, by threading a belt or pack strap through the center. It can be used vertically or horizontally on any belt, and can be placed in limitless locations on your kit. We have made these in the past for Law Enforcement Officers, EMTs, backwoods hunters, hikers and even a few Boy Scouts. If you wear a belt or carry a bag, you can use this product to keep your prefered TQ at the ready!

Lastly, out Tourniquet Holders can be used for more than just TQs. We have used them to secure radio microphones, antennas, tools, signal panels, and all variety of individual oddball items. You are only limited by your imagination.
